Privacy Policy
Introduction
This Privacy Policy describes how Josef Dave Reyes Llorente (“we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with the iOS application Squeeze – Video and Image Compressor (the “App,” also referred to as “Squeeze”).
The App provides on-device image and video compression using Apple frameworks such as ImageIO, Core Image, AVFoundation, and VideoToolbox. Features may include single and batch image compression, video compression with trim and preset controls, before/after comparison, metadata stripping, resize presets, Live Photo conversion, format conversion, Files app and document-picker import, optional save to Photos, compression history and space-saved stats stored on your device, saved compression profiles, and optional Pro tools such as unlimited batch queues, target-size encoding, advanced codec controls, background video processing, Shortcuts / App Intents automation, and optional iCloud sync of saved profiles through your private CloudKit container. Optional Pro features may be unlocked via a one-time Apple In-App Purchase.
No user account or login is required. The App does not operate developer-owned backend servers, analytics platforms, or advertising networks. Photos and videos you choose to compress are processed on your device and are not uploaded to the developer.
Information We Collect
What we do not collect. We do not collect personal information through developer-operated servers for analytics, advertising, crash reporting, or tracking. The App does not include third-party advertising, analytics, or crash SDKs beyond what may be provided by Apple as part of iOS and the App Store. We do not sell personal data. We do not receive your photos, videos, or compressed outputs on developer servers.
What may be processed on your device or by Apple.
- Photos, videos, and files you select are read and processed locally for compression, preview, and export.
- Compressed outputs may be written to the App’s local storage (for example Files → On My iPhone → Squeeze → Outputs) and, if you enable it, saved to your Photos library using add-only Photos access.
- App settings, compression history, space-saved totals, and saved profiles are stored locally on your device (for example in UserDefaults and app sandbox files).
- If you enable optional Pro iCloud sync, saved compression profiles may be stored in your private iCloud CloudKit container associated with your Apple ID; media files are not designed to be synced through that feature.
- If you use the system share sheet or Shortcuts, content moves only to destinations or automations you choose; the App does not re-read that export afterward.
- In-app purchases are processed by Apple under Apple’s privacy policy and terms.
We do not receive media uploads to developer servers; the App has no developer-operated servers for that purpose.
Photos, Files, and Local Storage
As designed:
- Media you pick through the photo picker, document picker, or Files app stays on-device for processing unless you explicitly save or share it elsewhere
- Original Safe mode is designed to write new compressed files without overwriting your originals
- Compression history and profile data remain on your device unless you enable optional iCloud profile sync
- The App does not operate a cloud compression service or developer-hosted media library
Optional iCloud Sync (Pro)
If you are a Pro user and turn on iCloud sync, saved compression profiles may be stored in your private CloudKit container. That sync is between your devices under your Apple ID and is not sent to developer-operated servers. Apple processes iCloud data under Apple’s privacy policy. Media files are not designed to be uploaded through this feature.
Purchases (Apple)
Optional Pro features may be unlocked through a one-time In-App Purchase via Apple StoreKit. Purchases and restores are processed by Apple. We do not operate a separate payment processor for the App.

How Information Is Used
On-device compression, preview, export, history, and profile logic is used solely to provide App functionality. Local data is used to remember your settings, show compression history, and optionally sync saved profiles through iCloud when you enable that feature.
We do not use your photos, videos, or compression results for advertising, tracking across apps or websites, or building developer-side user profiles, because that media is not sent to developer servers.
Data Sharing / Selling
We do not sell personal data.
We do not share your media or compression output with third parties through developer-operated transmission, because the App does not upload that data to developer servers.
Apple may process information related to App Store distribution, In-App Purchases, and iCloud under Apple’s policies. This App does not use third-party advertising identifiers for ads.
Data Retention
Because media is processed on-device and is not uploaded to developer servers, we do not retain your photos or videos on developer systems.
Local history, settings, profiles, and output files remain on your device until you delete them, clear history in the App, or remove the App, subject to how iOS manages app data. Optional iCloud profile data remains in your private CloudKit container until you delete it or disable sync. Purchase records associated with your Apple ID are retained by Apple according to Apple’s practices.
Children’s Privacy
The App is not directed at children and does not require account creation. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through developer-operated servers.
If you have concerns, contact us at josefdave.llorente@gmail.com. Device-local data is generally addressed by clearing history in the App or deleting the App from your device.
International Users
The App processes media on the device where the App is installed. Optional iCloud sync uses Apple’s infrastructure under your Apple ID. We do not operate developer servers that receive your media. Apple may process App Store, purchase-related, and iCloud data as described in Apple’s privacy materials.
This policy does not assert specific GDPR legal bases, data-protection officer appointments, or EU representative details.
